40 Day Lent Challenge
For 2016 we have joined with the wider Diocese for the Lent Calendar which you can follow here.
Welcome to the AYM Online Lent Challenge for 2015!
Christians over the last 2000 years have prepared their hearts for Easter by focusing on Jesus and examining how closely they are still following him, a spiritual ‘spring clean’ if you like. This has led some Christians to give things up for Lent (like chocolate and Facebook) to grow their ‘spiritual muscles’ and be more appreciative of God’s blessings. In 2015 we want to encourage you to be a blessing to your family, friends, churches and neighbourhoods. A wise old Greek (Socrates) once said, The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new. So our challenge this Lent is to “love your neighbour”. Do it with your youth group or ask a friend and share your photos so we all can be inspired. Our daily challenges are designed to be easy, practical and fun to do.
Each Sunday we’re inviting you to hear Jesus’ backstory leading to his death and resurrection by reading the scriptures set down for Lent in 2015 and answering a simple question.
The day’s challenge will be revealed when you click on the photo and each week’s challenges become visible one week in advance.
Our thanks to Eleanor Calder, Tom Berkley & Oscar Clarke for the photos.
